Let the Adventure Begin

Our story

Carrie and Rob met in 2008 at a required training course for work and became fast friends. Perhaps it was Carrie’s innate ability to compete in chair spinning contests at work or Rob’s uncanny love for doing, well pretty much anything, but they later decided that being together was far more exciting than being apart!

Inspired by each other’s desires to always be living life to the fullest, Rob and Carrie spent the next year dream chasing. From playing shows, to traveling through Europe, building houses for Habitat for Humanity, and so many other fulfilling adventures.

The Engagement

Rob booked a trip to Seattle, to fulfill Carrie’s desire to take on the Man vs. Food challenge at the Crab Pot to eat a giant bowl of seafood, in which she was quite successful.

Little did Carrie know that after stuffing herself with several pounds of seafood delight, that Rob had bigger plans for the evening. They took a much needed stroll along the oceanfront and absorbed the beautiful city lights of Seattle. Lost in conversation, they wandered all the way over to the Space Needle. They waited in the long line to get to the top. Rob was squirming and fumbling around, and told Carrie it was just nerves about his fear of heights. Once they had arrived at the top of the Space Needle they looked upon the beautiful city lights for a few minutes until Rob declared that the better view was from the other side. Upon getting to the less than pretty other side, Rob told Carrie that he had the best view picked out in one of the telescopes. Carrie took a gander at this so called amazing sight, to find that it was zoomed into the side of a building. As Carrie was thinking of some sort of witty retort, she looked back to find that Rob was down on one knee. Carrie panicked and Rob said some lovey things (none of which Carrie remembers) and by the time Rob finished Carrie had said “Yes”!

The next day, Carrie and Rob were scheduled to head back to Chicago. Much to Carrie’s surprise Rob had planned a cruise through Alaska that would take off the following day. Needless to say, the couple was more than excited to take off and extend their vacation, but Carrie was a bit under-packed for the adventure.

We can’t be more excited for this new adventure and sharing this special day with you!

Love,

Carrie and Rob
